Minnal Murali

Minnal Murali is a 2021 Indian Malayalam-language superhero film written by Arun, Anirudhan and Justin Mathew, and directed by Basil Joseph. The film was produced by Weekend Blockbusters. Sameer Thahir is the Director of Photography and Livingston Mathew is the editor.

Minnal Murali won four awards at the 52nd Kerala State Film awards, including ‘Best Visual Effects in Malayalam’ awarded to Mindstein Studios.

About Project

The film features about 40 minutes of visual effects by Mindstein Studios. This included the superpowers of characters, lightning and sky activities; fire, fluid and debris simulations, and some 3d creatures like a cat, a lizard and several crows.

Scenes

In the film, the character of Shibu uses his telekinesis power to move objects. CG was required to create some of the floating elements including this pet cat.

The climax confrontation between the characters Minnal Murali and Shibu also had several elements that were completely generated in CG.

This includes the church bell in this shot from the climax sequence.
